There are nine (9) accessible parking places on site at the Ford Theatres; a parking attendant will direct you. Patrons must show a designated placard to park in this area. The Ford is situated in a County regional park, and as such parking lots are located in hilly terrain. A free accessibility cart transports patrons from the accessible parking area to the Ford’s ADA entrance on the loading dock level. A ticket kiosk and elevator to access the theatre, concessions and picnic terrace is accessible on this level. Guest Services staff will be present to answer questions.
Please note, the ADA transit wheelchair lift has a capacity of up to 500 lbs and is unable to accommodate motorized scooters.
The main entrance by the box office has a graded inclined path suitable for wheelchairs, scooters, walkers or canes; the path leads to Edison Plaza (level 1). An elevator can be accessed on this level, taking patrons to level 4 (restrooms) and level 5 (amphitheatre seating). A separate elevator can be accessed on level 5 leading to the new picnic terrace.
In the amphitheatre, there are 10 wheelchair spaces, 10 companion/ADA fixed seats and 14 transfer seats. Patrons have the ability to purchase up to three (3) contiguous seats in the ADA section or as close to possible, if contiguous seats are sold out. Placement of ADA seating is in compliance with the California Historical Building code; the furthest seats are only 96 feet from the stage. The aisles in the amphitheatre have a steep grade; Guest Services staff are unable to assist with wheelchairs, etc. Wheelchairs, walkers, etc. may not block aisles. Guest Services staff will assist in moving devices to a secure location and retrieving them during intermission and/or after the show.
We recommend patrons arrive early to provide time to navigate the venue.

Hearing Assistance Devices
Hearing assist headphones are available for free. They can be picked up across from Door A on the amphitheatre level (level 5). Please ask an usher for assistance.
California law allows persons with disabilities to bring trained service dogs and psychiatric service dogs, but not emotional support animals, to all public places. Service dogs and dogs-in-training - animals that have been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual or other mental disability - are welcome at the Ford but must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. So that we may provide excellent customer service, please let our Guest Services staff know that your companion is a service dog or dog-in-training when entering the main gates. Pets of any kind are prohibited. Service dogs and dogs-in-training will need to remain in the seating area of the individual with a disability and not in the aisle or walkway.
