This grand festival of torrid and smoldering Argentinian music and dance features renowned dancers and choreographers to the stars, Sandor & Parissa.  They will re-ignite their passion for Tango with a dance troupe of six, accompanied by a masterful premiere performance from Argentine born pianist and composer Mario Parmisano and the Mario Parmisano Quartet (featuring Jorge "Coco" Trivisonno on bandoneon; Mario Parmisano was the pianist for iconic guitarist Al Di Meola for the past 10 years), making their U.S. debut, the fiery and eloquent music of Argentine bassist and arranger Pablo Motta (double bassist) and his L.A. Tango Quintet and the rich velvety baritone of legendary Argentine tango singer Martin de Leon who held his first concert at the Carnegie Recital Hall with the show Nueva Canción Latinoamericana and Since October 2005 has joined the Forever Tango world wide tour.

The Tango music program includes Tango ballads and classical compositions by: Julian Plaza, Augustine Bardi, and the legendary Astor Piazzolla amongst others.  Martin De Leon will perform a medley of Gardel songs, evoking the classic, sultry Tango era.

Internationally acclaimed Tango dancers and choreographers, Sandor & Parissa, will seduce the audience with a variety of Tangos ranging from the elegant traditional to the sensual contemporary. They have performed in countless television, film, and theatrical productions around the world.  Sandor was a principal dancer in the Broadway/London hit show, “Forever Tango,” receiving a “Best Choreography” Tony Award nomination.  He is also the creator, director and principal dancer with Parissa, in Magique Tango Vivo! that  toured with outstanding reviews. Sandor has been featured in Passions Latines at the Olympia Theatre in Paris, the Warner Brother’s film Mambo Kings, and the PBS TV Special Tango Magic.  He was honored with The Carlos Gardel Tango Lifetime Achievement Award.  Parissa has been featured dancing Salsa on the WB’s Charmed, HBO’s Six Feet Under, and E!’s Latin Image Awards.  Parissa has worked with Antonio Banderas to prepare him for the movie “Take the Lead.”  Sandor & Parissa have also choreographed for the Olympics and World Champion Ice Dancers. www.sandorparissa.com.

Fiesta Argentina: Siempre Tango offers audiences a full sensory immersion in Argentine culture: from the smoldering passion of Tango – erotic and haunting, involving both body and soul, to the smoky saloons of Buenos Aires with the plaintive yearnings of Tango torch songs, lovers caught in fervent embraces, to devastating dances with lightning fast kicks and serpentine twists.  Tango continues to evolve in Argentina as well as other parts of the world, for example “Gotan Project” in France, “Bajofondo Tango Club” in the Rio de la Plata, Uruguay amongst others.
